Jefferson's diary on Wed Dec 22, 2010 2:51 am
Chapter 29, Jefferson's diary, is probably one of the most compelling chapters of the book. I am glad the author decided to include Jefferson's thoughts on the night before his execution because it is hard to imagine the thoughts going through a person's mind knowing that tomorrow is their last day. I am proud of Jefferson because he is staying strong on the toughest night of his life. At the end of the chapter he even says "tell them im strong, tell them im a man..." which is a huge turn around from the beginning of the book when he accepts being called a hog.
